Kids don’t seem to think that they will ever get older and the way they do things reflects that and I was just like any other kid. My diet consisted of food that tasted good no matter what. My body didn’t seem to react badly to the way I treated it. I was able to stay relatively fit and trim despite my excesses. Now that I’m older, I truly miss the days when I could get away with all of those things.

I settled into a comfortable life that included a job, wife, and children. My life settled into a routine that I enjoyed. But my body also began to change. I wasn’t able to get away with treating my body like a was a young kid anymore. I had gained a lot of weight without even realizing it. My free time had completely disappeared. There were a lot of demands on me that I couldn’t seem to get away from. I knew something had to change. If I didn’t get some control in my life, I would be teaching my kids the wrong way to live their life.~I was setting a bad example for my kids and knew that if I didn’t change they would turn out just like me. My children were not being taught the right way to remain healthy and would look like me when they were older if I wasn’t careful.} I did not want them to follow in my footsteps when they became adults, so I decided that it was time to lose my stubborn belly fat and learn how to lose weight fast in order to help myself and my family and give them a good shot at being healthy in the future. I knew that if I could get my wife and kids involved that they would benefit too.

Including my wife and kids would present me with additional challenges. In order for a fitness plan to work we would have to adjust the way we were living on a daily basis. Whatever plan we came up with had to satisfy many different needs for several people. It was not going to be as simple as going to the video store and buying a copy of the latest and greatest six pack ab exercises, because I had to find something that would work with kids as well as adults, and it had to be good for both men and women. The good part is that we could do the fitness regimen together. There were a lot of fitness type things to do for all of us that we could do with each other. We found out that we could take ourselves out to a nearby park to get some exercise in. By going to the local park we were able to get active, and also spend a great day together. We also knew we could ride bikes in the neighborhood together. We started to work as a group and came up with a long list of activities that we could do together.

The next thing we had to change was the way that we eat. I began to do some research and discovered that there was help available at the biggest loser forum, which had many useful links and also had chat rooms which were full of people who offered some great advice for me and my family to implement our new fitness regimen. Like our exercise plan, we sat down as a family and decided on a diet plan that all of us would enjoy. Working as a family we were able to come up with a diet plan that suited everyone and would be healthy for us.

There are a lot of good things that happen when a family decides to get into shape together. Designing our fitness regime brought us closer together. That was time that used to be spent in separate parts of the house. The new diet and exercise regimen also created more time that we could spend together. In addition to being with each other more, our body’s were benefiting. We were sharing something as a family that was missing in our lives before. Exercising together created a common bond that we could share with each other and allowed us to talk more. It started as one individual who realized that they were badly out of shape and needed to change, but it ended up affecting the whole family.
